This Wood Montauk Point Lighthouse Birdhouse is a spot-on replica of the famous Montauk Point Lighthouse located at the easternmost point of Long Island New York. This detailed lighthouse birdhouse has a removable back for yearly cleaning drainage holes ample ventilation and unpainted interior walls. The entire weather-durable ply-board birdhouse is beautifully painted with non-toxic weather-durable paint and built upon a river stone foundation. Construction of the Montauk lighthouse was authorized by President George Washington and bears the distinction of being the first public works project of the United States! The infamous pirate Captain Kidd is even said to have buried treasure at the foot of the lighthouse but its yet to be found.
