Add Old World charm to your home or office when you display this handsome Reproduction 1745 Library Globe. No Renaissance library reception room or merchants office was complete without a large globe on a stand. Mapmakers and globe publishers issued new globes every year keeping clients up to date on the latest discoveries and explorations.
This particular globe is an accurate reproduction of one created by Gilles Robert de Vaugondy and his son Didier Robert de Vaugondy. The two were known as the leading cartographers in France during the 18th century.
Our 12½ diameter globe features a wood floor stand in the classical form used over the centuries.
The stand is finished in a distressed honey color with solid bronze hardware.
